Why I Love Boho Fashion
When it comes to fashion, finding a style that truly resonates with you is like discovering a piece of your own identity. For me, that style is Boho – an eclectic and free-spirited aesthetic that not only makes me look good but also makes me feel like my true self. In this blog post, I'll share with you why Boho style has become more than just a fashion choice for me – it's a reflection of my personality, values, and aspirations.
Easy To Wear With Elegant Allure - I Feel Beautiful Au Natural In Boho Style
What I love about the Boho fashion is that it's elegant, effortless but mostly comfortable. In fact Boho style is about being comfortable. And not just in your clothes, but also in your skin and in your mind.
Boho makes you feel beautiful au natural (naturally) – a statement that resonate with both my French and Aussie sides, as there's nothing more essential than feeling good by simply being yourself.
The clothes are amazingly flowy, light, long... they give you the elegant silhouette of a mermaid princess – or Boho queen, as the Boho girls like to call it.
No pain or discomfort from tight pants, suffocating tube dresses, sweaty polyester tops or torturing shoes. Only nice and soft breathy comfortable clothing (...sooo comfy!).
My favourites are the ever popular Boho maxi skirts and flowy blouses – super elegant and romantic you can wear them all year round, for any occasion, and feel beautiful just by being yourself.
Stylish & Whimsical - I Can Channel My Creativity With Sophistication
Boho fashion allows you to tap into your fantasist creative side and that's my favourite part, because my mind can be quite colourful and imaginative – well I can't help it, I'm constantly daydreaming and bombarded with ideas that come into my head!
With Boho I can calm and channel my creativity. I can mix and match clothes and accessories to create my own eclectic Boho style, throwing a Vintage Boho Chic feel or bohemian Hippie Chic to the mix if I feel like.
I also choose my outfit better – in the sense of picking clothes that suits me better in terms of colours, motifs and shapes – and stop looking at clothes with cuts I know 100% don't suit me at all (we agree, it always looks great on the model).
What is Boho style?
So what is Boho style? Boho, or bohemian fashion, is an unconventional free-spirited style that encourages a sense of freedom and self-expression. Rooted in the bohemian counterculture movements of the 1960s and 1970s. Boho fashion embraces a relaxed and carefree attitude, drawing inspiration from global cultures, vintage aesthetics, and the beauty of nature.
From flowing maxi dresses and embroidered tunics to fringed jackets and layered accessories, Boho style is all about mixing and matching eclectic pieces to create a look that is uniquely your own.
Is Boho bohemian?
Boho originates from the French term "Bohème", or "vie de Bohème" (Bohemian life) to describe "a wanderer's life without rules". An expression which has found several definitions and associations throughout French literature. It corresponds to a social, literary and artistic movement of the first half of the 19th century, rejecting industrial society and its rules, in search of an aesthetic and political ideal.
Also called Bohemianism, it was used to describe mid-19th-century non-traditional lifestyles, especially of artists, writers, journalists, musicians, and actors in major European cities (source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bohemianism).
Like the Parisian students of old, wandering the road freely writing their poetry, the image of Boho appears to me as the ideal of self expression, free spirited lifestyle, discovery and artistry.
Exploring Different Boho Styles
Bohemian was just the beginning. Freedom of self expression, connection with nature, spirituality, travel experience, or strong bond with a caring community. All of these aspirations found their way through an array of styles with diverse cultural influences, creating a Boho fashion incredibly diverse with endless possibilities.
