In Conversation With Natasha — Founder of Nina Après Swim

Coastal chic, slow-fashion values, and a love for beautiful things.
After introducing you to the effortlessly elegant label Nina Après Swim in our recent post, I had the chance to ask founder Natasha Nikolovska a few questions — and I’m so excited to share her answers with you. Her thoughtful approach to style, passion for quality, and grounded, creative energy are what make her brand so special.
More than a label — it’s a feeling. One that lingers long after summer ends.
Q&A With Natasha
Tell us a little about yourself and how Nina Après Swim began…
I’ve always been drawn to effortless style — quiet confidence that doesn’t try too hard. I was born in Ohrid, North Macedonia, a city steeped in history and handcraft. My mother and grandmothers were skilled in textiles; we often made clothes together at home.
That personal, soulful approach to creation is at the heart of Nina Après Swim. The label grew from a love of timeless design, quality materials, and pieces that make you feel good in your skin — from beach to bar, from summer to summer.

What inspires your designs?
Nature — always. The soft movement of water, the texture of sand, the warmth of golden-hour light. I’m also inspired by art, architecture and vintage fashion — silhouettes that last.
Our world is après swim: a seaside lifestyle that moves from pool, beach or boat to high-end city streets and stylish evenings out. The collection is designed to travel with you — effortless yet elevated.

Why swimwear and resort-wear?
Swimwear is sculptural and intimate — it’s about fit, form, and how a woman feels in her own skin. I wanted to design pieces that honour those moments — effortless yet elevated, soft yet structured, feminine and intelligent.
We spend a lot of time fitting and refining. It’s one of the most exposed garments you’ll wear, so the fit must feel like a second skin, yet supportive and uplifting. The goal is always to enhance the body — never to restrict it.

You place a big emphasis on slow fashion — can you share more?
From the beginning, it mattered to me that Nina Après Swim wasn’t about trends or throwaway pieces. Everything is ethically made in small batches, with fabrics chosen for durability and softness.
We also work with a Pre-Order model to reduce overproduction and waste, and to give our makers realistic timelines. We produce slowly, intentionally — with purpose behind each piece. It also gives our customers something special: the chance to invest in something meaningful.
Nina × Montipi — what’s special about this collaboration?
Collaboration connects us to like-minded creatives and lets us grow together. I look for partnerships that feel aligned, not forced. Audiences recognise when something is genuine. When it is, it’s not just a collaboration — it’s a conversation.
With Morgan, there’s a shared love of distinctive details and pieces made to last — and a focus on the woman we both design for: the free-spirited dreamer who seeks statement pieces that feel different, expressive, and uniquely hers.
Creation, to us, is personal — our customers want pieces that speak for them. Together, we bring something different, expressive, and beautifully made — so she can be unapologetically herself.
Montipi’s accessories bring a textural, artful finish to Nina’s sculpted silhouettes — from pearly shells to refined Italian leather — so she can move from beach to dinner with ease.

What are your favourite pieces in the current collection?
I’m really proud of the Ornate Vest — it’s a statement piece but also incredibly versatile. The hand-drawn placement print makes it feel almost like wearable art, and I love that you can wear it alone or layered. I’d pair it with our Solace wide-leg linen trousers, Montipi’s Evil Eye Shell Earrings, and the Fossil Seashell Bag — with the texture and character to echo the vest’s artisan detailing. It’s the kind of look that feels effortless but speaks volumes.

Any styling tips for effortless summer looks?
Keep it simple but elevated. A statement earring, a well-cut piece, and something that feels good to wear. I love layering soft shirts over swimwear and pairing with natural textures — think a shell clutch or woven leather. Montipi pieces add that extra polish while keeping the look relaxed.
