Pink Ombre Nails – Easy Nail Art with a Retro Chic Twist

Pink Ombre Nails – Easy Nail Art with a Retro Chic Twist

I've always loved doing my own nail art. It's one of my favourite creative escapes – playing with colours, experimenting with different effects and imagining my own little designs...

This time, I am sharing with you one of my favourite nail art, the ombre nails.

And for this one, I opted for something simple and feminine: dusty pink ombre nails, blending soft nude and rose pink gel polish into a beautiful, seamless gradient.

If you like pink but just a bit, you'll find this colour combination to be a great option.

A colour palette I find particularly chic. Romantic, with a retro chic flair, feminine and convenient to wear everyday.

Creating Ombre Nails – The Secret Tool

Ombre nails are one of my favourite nail art because they're very easy to create and the result looks so sophisticated.

If you're not versed into nail art, Ombre is a classic nail design that consist in blending 2 colours or more together in order to create a beautiful gradient of colour.

Also called gradient nails, Ombre nails are popular for their beautiful and stylish result.

They are various techniques to obtain the gradient effect. But to obtain the perfect ombre, smooth and seamless, to me there is no better tool than the Ombre brush.

Perfectly adapted for gel polish, its particular bristles shape blend the colours so easily - like you're brushing them out altogether.

I prefer this technique to using sponge, as you see any marks between the colours - totally seamless.

How To Do Pink Ombre Nails - Step-by-Step

For this design, I chose a neutral nude gel polish colour for the base and a dusty rose pink for the tips.

If you’re wondering how to recreate this look, I’ve put together a simple step-by-step tutorial below.

This design is surprisingly easy to achieve. For a long-lasting finish, I use gel polish, which needs to be cured under a LED lamp.

My pink ombre nail art creative process using nude and dusty rose gel polish colours

Follow the steps below to create your own pink ombre nails:

  • Step 1: Clean your nails with a small piece of paper towel or pad soaked in alcohol to remove any oils. Start by applying a thin layer of base gel polish at the tip of the nail, slowly moving toward the base. Cure it under the LED lamp for 20–30 seconds.

  • Step 2: Apply a neutral nude gel colour at the base of the nail, covering about a third of the nail. Then, apply a dusty pink gel colour on the tips.
Use an Ombre brush to gently blend the two colours together, moving in a horizontal motion from tip to base. Wipe off any excess from the brush as needed, and cure under the LED lamp for 30 seconds.

  • Step 3: Repeat with a second coat of each colour and blend again. Cure for another 30 seconds to set the colours.

  • Step 4: Finish by applying a Top Coat to seal the design and give it a glossy, polished finish. Cure one final time under the LED lamp.

This colour palette has a little retro chic flair, a bit vintage Parisian-inspired.

Feminine, sophisticated, that would dress beautifully with floral patterns, lace or pearls...

Like the Rose Chic Petal Clutch, with its delicate floral design and feminine, vintage-inspired charm.
